Volunteering has proved to have a positive impact on health and has many social benefits and it is a chance to socialise and get to know the local community better.

From its beginning the shop has been entirely run by volunteers and has never closed because of a lack of help.  Currently we have a total of 35 volunteers working in the shop and cafe and also some who support the community shop in other ways such as buying goods, maintenance, IT and web design. However, we do need many more people, so if you think you can spare a couple of hours and can join the team. We show the vacancies for the shop and cafe,in the box on the right.   All shifts can be flexible so just ask and we can accommodate your requirements.

We would also encourage more young people to volunteer in the shop, because we can give some valuable work experience or if you are working towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award.  Volunteering is always good to put on your CV!
